New word: Postelism or Robustism — something comfortingly reciprocal/balanced, often but not always in the form, “be conservative in x and liberal in y.”

E.g. “Be conservative in your breaking, be liberal in your stopping distance.” 

E.g. “Be conservative in your use of language, be liberal in your reading and acceptance of new terms.”

“Thought leadership” is a phrase describing the moment when the reader identifies that there is another human being behind the “content,” via the fragments of personality not smoothed out by their employer.

I think that we should hold the possibility of future happiness as an axiom. It’s not a certainty, but one can’t prove the negative (that happiness will never come) and assuming the negative is self-fulfilling.

If an individual seeks and can be satisfied only by continuously increasing pleasures and sensations, society calls them an addict; if a society, generation after generation, acts this way, we call it progress.

I try to ignore opinions that are merely copied from media/others; so, I realize, should I for guilt, confessions, admissions: real atonement comes from within; parroting confessions, just like “we have sinned” in church, is mostly performance/ritual, without skin in the game.
