I read the introductions to Ted Nelson’s Computer Lib and Dream Machines: two foresighted books published together in 1974.
Here is my reading from Computer Lib and Dream Machines by Ted Nelson. For the full vision, please watch or read the books. To give you a taster, part of Nelson’s thesis is that computers—which even in 1974 he saw would come to touch almost every aspect of our lives—are stunted in their scope because they are walled-off by a clique of experts whose mantra is control. Rather, in his view “it is for the Wholiness of the human spirit, that we must design.”
